This is a project I started in 2008 in Padova (Italy). My interest was to capture our self-perception during on-line video conference. What we see through a webcam and what is visualized on the monitor is an image of ourselves that we are not used to see. So I decided to capture these portraits using nothing but the light of a 23″ Apple monitor and a 80mm 1.8 lens.
This project was shot with a Canon HV20 for an Italian National Basketball Event.
Translation:
“How many similarities there are between life and the playfield. Apparently endless.
It’s important to give the right weight to every step, and find the right stability, not to lose our balance. It is our instinct which guides us towards our goals, even if they are not moving.
We don’t need any wings to fly, we only have to keep our feet firmly on the ground.
That’s why. That’s why playing games makes us grow up faster. Much faster.”
Consolation is the result of a collaboration between three creatives coming from fashion, advertising and videomaking. Aldo DiBerardino, Simona Caruso and Loris Pignoletti.
This video is an artistic project that focusses on beauty and passion. The goal was to analyze the most intimate action between two people. Attraction can happen in any circumstance and passion is a feeling that, in our minds, should not be judged.
